Q & A 168 – From S in Connecticut State

“looking for help.  assalmualaykom, I am a female from USA 47 of age. I live in such a bizarre situation for many years (12 years) and i am being tormented with ideas, advises and criticism too, from many..I came to the USA to study and earn a masters degree and i did. during that same year i met a non muslim american man who ask me for mariage, he converted to islam and one month later we got married. my life was great for about 2 years. in 2000 i went to Morocco to visit my family and stayed there for one month with our first baby. Then life turned sour very sour between my husband and I. I had a very good job at that time we were financially OK. in 2001 i was let go from my job( which was my last one) I have been looking for work since then and got nowhere. i decided to start a business in 2004, things were better than before and we saved some money to travel to Morocco in 2005. 1 year later, my husband accused me that he was not sure he is the father of our three children and we got divorced, we lost the business, my ex-husband lost his jobs, he got very ill and still is. I am suffering a lot that neither I or my ex-husband could provide or support our children. Also i have pains and aches all over my body, I can’t sleep(in December of 2013 i did not sleep for over one week and had to take medication…) during the nights my body gets so stiff and twist and turn all through the nigh. Alhamdolillah, i have so many skills and I am very well educated; I hold many degrees and certifications and life skills too, BUT i can’t benefit from any of it. I am terribly depressed, sad and disappointed; i try my best to keep up so my children or my family would not notice, but time is passing and my life too.
